review
On 29.09.2023, the EUNIORS Youth and Sports Association organised the Regional Folk Song Contest for the third time as Part of the Folk Tale Festival. This year Vácduka hosted this event. Six schools from the reagion (Váchartyót, Váchatyán, Vácduka, Penc, Kismaros, Rád) were represented. A total of 44 children participated in the competition, which featured a very colourful and high-quality performance. The children competed in 3 age groups and a couple category. The jury had a tough job this year.
Nearly 150 people were interested, and Zoltán Juhász, a folk dance teacher, was invited to the event, where he enhanced the atmosphere with a lively dance workshop, delighting young and old alike.
I think the best way to express our aim is to use the words of Zoltán Kodály:
"Culture cannot be inherited. The culture of the ancestors will evaporate if each generation does not acquire it again and again."
Congratulations to the winners!
