St. Martin's Day Light Trail

For the fourth time, we held our traditional St. Martin's Day Light Trail in Váchartyán and for the first time, in cooperation with the Diocese of Caritas Vác, we held it in Vác to create a tradition.

In Váchartyán, we walked from the Reformed Church to the Catholic Church, and in Vác we walked from the Bishop’s Palace to the Cathedral, where we laid our Trail of Lights of candles and lanterns.

The Trail of Lights is a symbol of hope and community, as it is the prelude to a Christmas gift collection. Our Youth and Sports Association has been collecting toys for children for over ten years. Our work is now supported by businesses, sports clubs and partner organisations, so that together we can make Christmas happier for more children in need.

At the program, we welcomed the older ones with new wine and the younger ones with hot tea. Goose was also on the menu: bread with goose fat, goose pâté and goose-shaped cookies were served. Finally, we sang songs and danced a circle dance.
