HUNGARIAN CULTURE DAY 2024

ON THE 95TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE BIRTH OF SÁNDOR KÁNYÁDI

This year, for the 6th time, our Association organised the Event of the Day of Hungarian Culture, with a drawing and creative competition and quiz for primary school children.

This year we remembered Sándor Kányádi.

The drawing competition attracted 135 entries from 8 schools in the Vác region. The jury judged the works in the following 4 categories:

1.       (Carved Poem) Faragott Versike - Grade 1-2
2.        (The three legs of a chair) A Három székláb  - Grade 3-4
3.       (Poem from a Small Village) Kicsi Faluból Való Vers – Grade 5-6
4.       (The Forest is silent) - Grade 7-8

On 26 January 2024, an exhibition of the works was held at the Géza Gárdonyi House of Culture and Education in Vácrátót.

The prize-winning young artists received a CD of the Kaláka Band as a gift.

THE CONTEST  - PROGRAM

this afternoon, a show and a team contest were organised in memory of Sándor Kányádi in cooperation with the Municipality of Vácrátót.

Special thanks to the contemporary writer Sándor Murányi for his anecdotes and stories about Sándor Kányádi, the songwriter and singer Zoltán Fábián and the performances of Blank Szikora for making this event colourful and memorable.

The audience could also take part in the interactive program for small gifts.

The winners of the quiz received a gift voucher from the Kavalkád Stationary in Váchartyán and a ticket to the Budapest Fairytale Museum.
